I make digital layered photographs and print them with pigmented inks on cotton watercolor paper. I use photographs of my constructions of found objects and my botanical and animal photographs.
My mission with this new work is to look at familiar objects that reveal the interdependance of all life on this planet. By studying these objects I find they often call out to me as something new, and my experience is as if seeing them for the first time. Viewing these things over time I find they begin to look like other unrelated things and this has inspired me to create layered images and collages.
Some inspiration for me has come from viewing the work of Anselm Kiefer, who also collects objects, photographs, and builds constructions and layers them on a canvas, often with paint.
My insight is all life has a plan, evidence of which can be found in my work. My continuation of this work is looking at the plans of humans and human civilization as they advance through the "scientific" age.
